JUDY'S TABLE: JULY 2008
(July 27, 2008)—My mom loves eating homemade tortillas with our finadene dishes. She's always been meticulous in the kitchen, both with flavor and presentation.
To make them, she starts by mixing water with a high-quality Masa found in any grocery store. After that, it just takes a few steps to create a slightly crispy, mildly browned tortilla like what you see above.
How my Mom makes tortillas:
1) Use your hands to press about a handful of Masa dough on wax paper.
3) Remove upper wax paper and press a a medium-size saucepan lid to create a perfectly round slice of tortilla dough.
4) Peel away the excess dough and voila!
5) You can now place the tortilla dough on a non-stick pan heating over a medium flame. No oil necessary.
